Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples.  Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:31-32 NIV)

The route to freedom begins with obedience. Whenever we replace the Word of God with our own ideas, we become blind to the truth. When we disregard truth, it becomes less effective and the results are blindness and enslavement.

When you begin by obeying the truth, even if you can't yet see the end result or visualize the outcome, as you obey the command or follow the instructions, the truth becomes clearer and the picture begins to emerge. With obedience, comes increase knowledge, and with increase knowledge, truth is discernible, and with discernment of truth, freedom. If you desire freedom, begin by obeying the Word of God.

If you desire more stability in your life, lack confidence in your relationship with Christ, or feel like your life is crashing in all around you, then obedience is the answer.

Again, look at another lesson Jesus taugh in Matthew 7: 24-26 NIV; “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. Your strength is in your obedience to Christ.

Blessings!
