If you have been battling a hurt, a pain from the past that you cannot shake, a crisis, or problem of some kind that you cannot seem to get past, I want to assure you that there is hope.

Perhaps today, the place where you find yourself stuck is sucking the life and joy out of you and there is no peace. Perhaps you are stuck at a place where the decision you made in the past is producing much guilt and agony today. Perhaps the place where you are stuck is in a cycle of addiction that you can't break, or a cycle of sin that is costing you your freedom. Perhaps you are stuck in a place of indecision. You want change, but at the same time you want to please people. Now the place of your hurt, pain, disappointment, addiction, bad choices, and lifestyle has now become the place of your shame. Now you hide because you are too afraid to admit that you have a problem; too ashamed that your family or friends wouldn’t understand that people will think less of you, and so you refuse to find help. Perhaps today, you are also discovering the place of your shame is also creating pain and problems for others around you too.

Jabez was stuck just like you (I Chronicles 4: 9-10). His name became his shame. He was stuck with a name he couldn't change. He could not recall or rewrite what had taken place to change his name. And although his pain may be different from yours, the outcome was the same. You too may be stuck with pain you couldn't change and now that pain has reduced you to shame.

Today, I want to remind you that Jesus offers hope for your hurt, purpose for your pain and victory for your victimization, and salvation in exchange for your sin. You don't have to remain stuck where you are. If you will call on the only name that has salvation, then he won't leave you like he finds you. You can find the answer in him just like Jabez did. What's it going to be? Don’t put it off any longer.  He is waiting for you to come and call. He is and has the answer you need. Do it for you and do it for the ones you love.

Blessings,
Pastor Cynthia
